I just love painting.

I don't rely on it to put food on the table, however I take it seriously and probably paint every day for at least two hours. Over the years I have had lots of tuition, either formally or from artists that I admire.
Typically I start my paintings on location and the changing light helps to keep me focussed.  Normally they are just about completed by the time I bring them home. However  I don’t consider myself a plein-air painter, but that tag may be inevitable as much of my work is done outside.

I enjoy the physical process of working with oils but am now also occassionaly trying to work in a more disiplined and structured way.  I have even gone over to the dark side and tried the odd water colour

As well as landscape painting I attend life drawing and painting classes most weeks.  Originally this was to improve my drawing but recently I have started to produce life paintings for their own sake.
