A morning at Earith
Spent Monday morning painting at Earith. A bright day but tried to keep the tones down so I could get more contract between vertical trees and the ground. The image below shows just how much move or omit things to make what I feel is a pleasing composition. I missed out a few trees and move a church a few miles. The barges on the river were moving all the time so I had to paint what I could remember as the most interesting ones. I am amazed how few people one sees slightly off the beaten track near the River Ouse – two people in two hours.
I will be adding images of all the completed paintings to my website but for now I just want to get out and paint
