Northants or bust

Back over the border on a dull but perfect morning for painting.  A cold to start but no wind for a change.  Both painting need some tweaks here, mainly softening some very strong diagonals, but the basics are fine to me.  Deliberately worked on keeping the colours under control with earth colours knocking back the cadmium yellow, but results not quite as dull in real life as in the photos.  I will return to repeat the second one as the composition has lots of potential.

    Hi Richard
I have some paintings by a Richard Allen
dated 1985 of old ,as in old, together with a couple of landscapes.
    Are you the artist ?
    Thanks
    Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for the message. They would not have been mine as I was in Hampshire at that time, but I am aware of of two artists called Richard Allen in Northamptonshire about that time. They are probably by the one who taught at the college and who is associated with the Town and Country Art Society in Northampton. I am aware of another Richard Allen who tends to specialise in watercolour/wildlife. I don’t have any contact details but I believe they are both on Instagram. I hope this help. Richard

    Thanks Richard
    I appreciate your reply.
It is probably the local art teacher as some of the paintings are of shoes kept within a museum in Northampton.
I like your style of oil painting.
    All the best
    Dave
