Hi, not posted for a while as when not busy at work I have been working up plein-air pictures from earlier in the year ready for shows.  Some hardly require a touch, some a fair bit – normally getting rid of darks or lights in the wrong place, or awkward brush strokes.  Only about 1 in 5 make in through to framing!  Now the clocks have changed and the days are shorter I have decided to limit myself to locations within an easy walk from home.  This will force me to widen my subject matter and get me to focus more on my drawing.  I have posted a couple below from today. Even when fairly overcast the light changes so much two hours is the maximum I can spend on each one.

In the first one there are some awkward white brush strokes which are an example of things I need to watch out for. The swother one was done in the twilight but I was pleased with some of the soft colours I captured.

Very nice, Rich. I see what you mean about the white strokes in the first painting. But, aside from those, you have some lovely brushwork and subtle color which is just beautiful.
